The Abergavenny Round Table is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a certificate of merit from the Gwent Association of Voluntary Organisations in the Monmouthshire Volunteer Achievement Awards 2011.

‘We are very pleased to be recognised for what we do, ‘said Ian, Round Table Chairman. ‘We like to think of ourselves as more of a social club, a group who gets together for fun, raising cash for local causes, helping others, organising the Firework Display ( Sat. 5th November), that’s as much a part of what we are as is the carting, gliding, eating, climbing, clay pigeon shooting and drinking etc.’

Round Table is an organisation for men up to the age of 45.
The idea of Round Table is that it gives you the opportunity to make new friends other than work colleagues, do different social activities other than go to the pub, (although going to the pub does feature in the other activities as well to be honest) and help give back a little to the community.

‘We don’t know who nominated us’, continued Ian, ‘but whoever thinks we are doing ok, thank you. Maybe you’d like to come along and give Tabling a go?
